Damage Reporting App for Oil & Gas Operations

A leading oil and gas company operating across remote drilling locations was managing all damage reporting through paper-based forms, manual handoffs, and fragmented communication channels. With field workers operating in harsh, low-connectivity environments across multiple active sites, the existing process was creating dangerous delays — damage reports were slow to reach the right teams, critical component failures were going unresolved, and there was no centralized system to track, assign, or analyse damage incidents across operations. The absence of a structured digital field reporting tool was directly impacting operational safety, asset maintenance, and HSE compliance.
We designed and delivered a fully custom Microsoft Power Apps Canvas damage reporting application — built for oil and gas field operations — enabling field workers to submit real-time damage reports from any mobile device, complete with photo uploads, severity tagging, and geolocation capture. Integrated with Power Automate for automated workflow routing and escalation, SharePoint Online for centralized incident data storage, and Office 365 Outlook for instant stakeholder notifications, the app replaced paper-based damage reporting entirely and gave operations, maintenance, and safety teams a connected, audit-ready, digital-first field reporting system built on the Microsoft Power Platform.
